George Polioudakis is the owner of Poliou House and is a man with great passion for tradition. He has a strong determination to rescue the history of his family as well as Asteri, his village. He has devoted endless time and research and has collected objects of traditional culture and old household equipment of the Cretan culture.
Every finding has been carefully preserved and classified and they are all exposed at the museum. The rooms of the museum are a faithful representation of the traditional house with furniture of the old times, while the walls of the house are decorated with archival photographic material.
